Indiana Representative Bill Friend (R-Macy) was on hand on Wednesday to present a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to the Town of Denver for the construction of a new fire station.
“Providing assistance for the revitalization of Indiana's smaller communities is vital for their economic growth,” said Rep. Friend. "I am grateful that the cooperation between state and local officials to secure this grant for the Town of Denver was a success."
The presentation was made during the Indiana Office of Rural Affairs' Community Focus Fund Awards ceremony.
"The residents and local officials of Denver can now feel confident that their plans for a new fire station are much closer to fruition," Rep. Friend added.
Rep. Friend represents House District 23, which includes portions of Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, Fulton, and Miami Counties.
