Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will be making a visit to Peru on Sept.
17, to speak at the public dedication of Grissom Airport and the grand
opening of Montgomery Aviation at Grissom Aeroplex.
Montgomery is a fixed-base operator which facilitates general aviation that is now permitted at the former Air Force runway. The dedication is a
milestone for Grissom and the future development of the air base.
Also taking part in the ceremony will be Brigadier General Dean Despinoy, commander of the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom, State
Representative Bill Friend and State Senator Tom Weatherwax.
The public is invited to the ceremony, which takes place at 11:30 a.m. at Hangar 11 or 1697 W. Hoosier Blvd. An invitation-only luncheon will
follow.
