Miami County has extensive energy resources and is served by five electric utility companies depending on geography. Peru Municipal Utilities , Miami-Cass REMC , Fulton County REMC , Wabash County REMC , and Duke Energy all provide services to the County. Nipsco is the gas supplier for the entire county.
The Miami County Economic Development Authority embraces concepts of clean sustainable power resources and competitive utility pricing. The County has a vast resource base for alternative power generation including access to the Wabash River, wood, crop, biomass feedstock, significant livestock production, and in certain areas, attractive wind generation potential.
